Supernova — witnessed. Type Ia. Remnant: Kepler's SNR (3C 358). Distance ~5 kpc. Placed at the epoch the event HAPPENED, 16,000 years before its signal reached Earth (1604 CE), by removing its light-travel time (distance/c, exact at this redshift). The registry's default view is the absolute one, where every object sits where and when it really is; put an observer on Earth and the signal arrives on the catalogued date again. ARRIVAL DATE: the catalogued date of this event — the year humanity recorded — is when the LIGHT REACHED EARTH, not when the star exploded. at the catalogued distance the light took about 16,000 years to reach us, so the explosion preceded that date by about as much. The node itself is placed at the explosion, so an Earth-frame observer recovers the recorded date from the geometry.
